GCCI Saturday Morning Tank Slap - Saturday, May 10, 2008

The AWRCS crew is getting ready to go to Mines and Meadows to set up for next weekend. The parking is going to be a little tight so please try and stay close to eachother when you pull in. I will get some pics for on the site and should have them on by Monday. There are a ton of Hotels very close and it should be a great event.

I will post more info Sunday night.

Friday Fuel Up - Friday, May 09, 2008

Another week has gone by and I didn't get much on the site. But I hope your ready for me tofill that big'ol brain of yours up with some of my new knowledge!!! The first big news i got is the last two dates on the schedule that are TBA will be held at Beaver Valley Raceway near the Pittsburgh Airport. When I met with Ed Schaffer on Monday we started down the new road into the track and when we came out into the old MX side the track and all the jumps were still there!!! It was completly covered with green grass and deer. The bleechers are still there and it was almost like a dream. I can't wait to race there, maybe I'll come out of retirement. Nah to much work.

The next big thing going on is GT Thunder Contingency for the ATV's. i talked with Lazarus Sommers and he agreed to help for the remainder of the year! So a big thanks to the crew over there at GT Thunder. I will get that info up very soon.

I got some other stuff I will post in the morning, have a great night.

Linda L. McMillin - 11/24/47 - 05/02/08 - Wednesday, May 07, 2008
It is with deep sadness that I send out this message. Linda McMillin, an AWRCS employee in the registration trailer, has passed away this past friday after a long battle with breast cancer. She lived life as everyone should live life, that is to the fullest and with no regrets. As all of you racers can attest to, you would have never known that she was even sick. That is the type of person Linda was, caring for others and not allowing her illness to get her down. Please keep her family and friends in your prayers during this time.

We Will Miss You Linda

New Venue - Saturday, May 03, 2008

I almost got an answer on the Beaver Valley Raceway Property. I talked with the land owner Ed today and I have an appointment to meet with him on Monday. If it all works out we will probably have the last to TBA dates there. There is a semi natural terrain mx track there and a lot of valleys. They did have National HS there in the past and it was one of the longest standing D5 HS tracks ever, if not the longest.

Actually one of the best races I have ever seen took place there!!! It was the last National HS of the year in 1988 and it came down to the 3 people for the title Scott Summers, Scott Plessinger and Eddie Lojak. Lojak had the points lead on his Factory Husqvarna only 3 ahead of Plessinger and Summers. The start seen Summers leading the first two laps with Plessinger and Lojak in tow. About lap 3 Summers was pitting and Lojak pulled up to him and started screaming about Summers trying to take him out. Plessinger took the lead and Lojak and Summers got into a small altercation in the woods. With 2 laps to go Summers was now out and Lojak was on the gas!!! Eddie made up the time. Plessinger and Lojak came out into the MX track side by side plwing into each other in the corners and I believe I witnessed a few punch's being thrown!!! With Pit Crews running back and forth and a little pushing and shoving Lojak came out the Overall winner and sewed up his 5th or 6th National Harescramble Title. A lot of people don't realize how fast Eddie was. He has the Record 9 total GNCC/100miler Titles (it was the 100 miler series and had a name change in 1983 to GNCC) although he is listed only with the GNCC name change and 6 National Harescramble titles for a total of 15 National Championships!!! I know what you are thinking he is my brother and I am blowing smoke, not the case!!! Ask around&l

GCCI Saturday - Saturday, May 03, 2008

Another Saturday morning here in AWRCS Land. I don't got very much to tell you today but I want to throw just a few things out there.

First of all an update on Don Bigley. I talked to him the other day and he is doing a little better, but still got a ton of pain. they put a rod up through his Femur. He will have an X-ray pretty soon and get some more info on what's up. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Don and family.

Next thing is I was thinking of doing some kind of award for the kids that ride. Maybe somthing like if you bring your report card and have a B average or better you get an award. E-mail me on this and let me know what you think.

Thursday News - Thursday, May 01, 2008

Well I was sort of missing for a couple days there and I will be in and out over some time. But I always have the AWRCS Hotline in my pocket so if you need info hit me up.

on another note, I am working on two new properties for up comming events. The one is Beaver Valley Raceway an older D5 track that was always one of my favorites. I am trying to sort things out with the land owner and should know somthing in the near future. It is located in Hookstown Pa. and there has been national Harescrambles there in the past. The cool thing is the havn't had a race there in 8 years and the land is healed up pretty good!!!

The other I am not able to tell you about yet. But we should have info on Reynoldsville soon also.

J-Lo

I will try to keep info comming in to you all as I get it.

Tuesday, April 29, 2008 - Tuesday, April 29, 2008
Hi everyone I am still getting used to the web site please be patient with me.  I have put up some pics from the first round at Boyers just to let everyone know they are there under the multimedia.  I am going to try to get pics up right after each race.  If any one has any suggestions on the ATV side on what you would like to see please feel free to email me at brandie01@windstream.net.

MSR Monday Hydration - Monday, April 28, 2008
Well it's Monday and I started getting fliers up to Wampum. I didn't get to check out how our riders did in Tennesee but I will and let you know. The big thing I got done this week is an AWRCS only Phone number (724) 841-6529 it is on the Contact Us page and will be there all  year.
You can reach me at this number between 9am and 7pm every day for questions or comments. I will try to always answer, and if not leave me a message and I will call you back. Please feel free to use it, that is what I got it for. Remember all this is to make sure all our riders and families are kept happy and comming back!!!

Next thing is we would like to thank the Gray Family for all thier help with Boyers and the clean up they did over the weekend. They are an awesome family and they offered help for all year when they can. Also there was a few locals up at Boyers Sunday that just showed up without even being asked helping take down arrows and ribbon. Chuck didn't get names but we really appriciate it.

GCCI Saturday - Saturday, April 26, 2008

Attention all ATV Riders!!!

I would like some E-mails on who and what companies to contact for help with the ATV side of the sreies. I would like to get you all some kind of Contingency and maybe tire a sponcer for the series. The thing is we got to act fast, if we wait until the fall all the promo loot is already gone!!! I would like to have a Power Point Presentation out to them by the end of May. So what I need from you all is input. Please E-mail me with some ideas.

I also would like to get everybody together at Registration at the next race about 11:30am and just do some brain storming. Remember I am not that knowledgeable when it comes to Quad racing I just sell the them and parts. On another note we do help all our riders here at Lojaks so if you are looking for a shop and some help I got your butt covered.

Friday Fuel Up - Friday, April 25, 2008

Well the weekend is upon us and I got some info on Reynoldsville. We are going to reschedule for a later date. They folks up there got everything sorted out and all the permits in to the land conservation office up there. We just are waiting on approval. We will let you know when the dates are in the near future.

Next thing is I got a call from Ben Corsetti today and told me that a bunch of our riders were at Switchback for practice last night. he said Joe Scherer, Mark Liti, Randy Myros and a bunch of others were there. They have practice at Switchback Tuesday and Thursday 5pm till dark and High Voltage has practice Tuesdays 5pm till dark. I really believe that if woods riders do some motocross it makes a better rider. I used to ride a little Professional SX and MX, and look how fast I am!!! (or used to be) Good luck to all our Turkey hunters and all our riders heading to Loretta Lynns (i used to play guitar for her in the late 60's)

Just Because - Friday, April 25, 2008

I just wanted to throw somthing out there for all our riders and families. It is very important to support your local shops. The Internet and mail order companies are really effecting the industry as a whole. Sales for shops are down 30% this year and as you might notice we are loosing a lot of local shops. If they all go away the Industry will be in deep trouble and eventually widdle away to nothing. This message is very important to be spread through out all riders at all levels. Above all support the shops that help our series. this is not a sales pitch!!! Companies such as Dennis kirk are owned by large corperations and are NOT hands on with thier customers and don't even hire employees that know anything about the product they are selling. That to me is a low blow to the consumer. Make the smart decision and take a ride out to Bohn, Lojaks or Stillers.

Important message from Chuck Greenlee - Friday, April 25, 2008

The land owner from Boyers called me today and wanted me to come to check out the creek with him. I picked up 168 beer cans. 13 cigerett wrappers, 11 pop cans and 4 bottles of water. Please in the future have respect for the property we use. We always have free trash bags at sign up for this reason. I think it was probably locals, but I wanted to share this with the AWRCS family. Thank You. Have a great weekend and I can't wait to see everybody at the next round.

On another note, my Father was rushed back into the Hospital yesterday with a bunch of strokes. The Info on Reynoldsville - Sunday, April 20, 2008

Well let me give you all the info I have up tp this point. I got to Reynoldsville at 4pm on Friday, by 5pm the  DEP came in and served a cease and desist order against the Park Officials. The story goes like this. After last years  event there the local Conservation Board told the Park that they had to fix all the water crossings and that they needed to get a permit application in for this year 30 Days prior to the event and they told us it was going to be taken care of. Well that wasn't the case, they didn't put the application in until Thursday of this week. So come Friday we were pretty suprised at this and called our Lawyers and some State Officials from the area. But our efforts were worthless against the DEP. Now I got a bunch of calls from a number of our Riders and Families and explained that AWRCS was not at any fault what so ever, and that mid afternoon on Monday we will post info on what our plan is to compinsate for this inconvience  to our Riders.

This in no way, shape or form will effect the other events on our schedule. The DEP was after the Park not the AWRCS Series!!!

I know that a lot of Riders and Families lost money spent getting ready for the weekend and so did we. We already had the Insurance, Port a johns and a bunch of othe expences spent on the Race.

Again we want to appoligize for this issue and will post more info tomorrow.Thank you all for your understanding and please feel free to E-mail me ideas on what we can do to make this up to you.

DP Wednesday Brake Check - Wednesday, April 16, 2008

Well I know I've been missing for a minute, so here's the deal. My Father was rushed to the Emergency room Sunday night when I got home from Boyer's and had Open Heart Surgery on Friday. He is doing great and I am back in action. The problem was I was the one of 6 kids he wanted to stay all day and all night with him because of my experiance going through Cancer twice. but I am back and will be at the race this weekend.

Now that I got that out of the way here is what is going on in AWRCS Land. Chuck and Matt been up there all week and are putting together a couple of sweet tracks for everybody. The ATV's will be running portions of last years track and a bunch of last years bike Track.

The Bikes are going to have new trail most of the course and  some revampted stuff.

The minis will be pretty much the same as last year and super mini will probably be the Quad course with some new stuff.

We are going to place the score sign closer to the scan point so there is no mix ups like at Boyers.

Rick almost got the complete Video done and I seen portions and you guys are going to love it!!! He will have them for sale at the sign up trailer so dont forget to grab a couple for all your down time at home. I always liked to invite a bunch of friends over to watch them with me.

Ryan smith got me some articals done that will be sent out to mags very soon also.

I will post somthing about Yamaha Contingency later today when I contact them and also Pirelli.
