“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. ‘:As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.

Isaiah 55:8,9

Fewer and fewer folks make it a practice today, but I remember my mother and grandmother canning fruits and vegetables from the garden. Those canning jars were filled to capacity and sealed in order to preserve their contents. Each jar was a finite container which held a finite amount of product. However, once the seal is broken and the lid removed that simple glass jar can hold an infinite amount if things. I’ve seen canning jars used a drinking glasses; refilled over and over. I’ve seen them used as flower vases and stuffed with strings of lights for decorations. I’ve seen the lids attached to a shelf in the garage and the jars filled with small parts, nuts, bolts, cotter pins, etc. and screwed into the lid for storage. I’ve even seen a series of them arranged to be filled with water which flowed and spilled into the next jar creating an indoor waterfall.

An infinite amount of water filled those jars. In order for the jars to be filled infinitely they had to be unsealed and open.

Let me ask a question: which is greater, that which you know or that which you do not know? Most geniuses have confessed that as they sought more and more knowledge, they realized there so much yet left to learn. So, just to be sure, we are in agreement that there is more we don’t know than we do know. Now, I want you to listen to Word of God, an invitation actually, which the Prophet Jeremiah revealed: “Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”

How about that? We have a God who desires to share His knowledge with us.

God’s knowledge and wisdom are infinite, but we can receive it. First, however, we have to unseal and open the glass jars called our hearts and minds. We have to open ourselves to infinite and eternal wisdom of God and in His great love, God will reveal exactly what we need to learn when we need to learn it.

This knowledge which God is willing to impart to us is honestly a treasure to be held as valued and honored. As we share these devotions over the next weeks and months, I pray that you will find treasures that will bless you. Remember what Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 4:7-But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this al/ surpassing power is from God and not from us.

Prayer: Lord, we call to You today to receive a portion of Your infinite wisdom. You have promised to do this for us and You already know the problems and trials we may be facing Just now. Please Lord, impart Your knowledge; fill the open jars of our minds and hearts in order that we may be used to Your glory. Now and forever in Jesus’ name, Amen.

See you at the races,

Racers for Christ Chaplin
